National Stem Cell Therapy Directory
Your questions, answered
What is the National Stem Cell Therapy Directory?
It's a directory, not a clinic. We help you find licensed stem cell and regenerative medicine clinics by state and ZIP code, and give you a plain checklist for vetting any clinic before you book. We don't treat patients and don't endorse any particular clinic or product.
Are stem cell treatments FDA-approved?
It depends entirely on the use. Blood-forming stem cell transplants from cord blood or bone marrow are FDA-approved and used at hospitals to treat certain cancers and blood disorders. Most of what's offered at consumer-facing regenerative medicine clinics — injections for joints, backs, sports injuries, skin or hair — is generally NOT FDA-approved, and the FDA has issued public warnings about unapproved stem cell clinics and products. Ask any clinic exactly what product they use and its FDA status.
How do I vet a stem cell clinic before I book?
Ask what product they use and its FDA status, who will perform the procedure and their license and board certification, what evidence supports it for your specific condition, what the risks and alternatives are, and get everything in writing before you pay anything. A legitimate clinic answers all of this without hesitation.
What red flags suggest a clinic isn't legitimate?
Watch for clinics that guarantee results, claim to 'cure' a disease or 'regrow' tissue, pressure you to decide quickly, won't name the exact product or its FDA status, or discourage you from getting a second opinion. Any of these is a reason to walk away.
Can stem cell therapy cure my condition or guarantee results?
No reputable clinic can promise that. Outside of FDA-approved blood-forming stem cell transplants, claims that injections 'cure' arthritis, reverse aging or regrow hair are not supported by FDA approval. Treat guarantees as a warning sign, not a selling point.
Should I search by my state or my ZIP code?
Either works. Search by ZIP code for the clinics closest to you, or browse your state's directory page to compare every licensed clinic we list in that state side by side, including ones a short drive further out.
How do clinics get listed in the directory?
Licensed clinics can list for free, or reserve an exclusive referral territory — a ZIP code, five ZIP codes, a state, or the whole country — so that patients in that area who ask for a referral are connected to them. It's still up to the patient and the clinic to decide together what's right; we only make the introduction.
